...not that the above has anything to do with this entry. But she does, and she asked me to give you a shout out. And I am in a complaint and happy kind of mood.
Saturday was our last day at the beach and we went home that afternoon. I am trying not to think about it, because: beach is good! Home is bad. Home involves bills and a hanging socket that I haven't fixed yet and there's that tap that's been running for a week, and on top of everything else, YOU GUYS, I have done NOTHING but eat and drink for DAYS, and now I have to go back to work, and my jeans no longer fit my body.
What the hell? SERIOUSLY, PEOPLE.
We had such a good time, though, and I was excited about seeing my cat, Smokey. Smokey was...well, really, really, seriously pissed at me when we came back. I left him with a neighbor for almost two weeks. That is like four years in cats’ time. And Smokey White, is not forgiving.
So, you know how some parents love to show pictures of their kids, whether you ask to see them or not? Well, I've been like that with the pictures we took at the Coast and without further ado, here are my ‘children’
We ate everything sea food on the menu :)
And DK ate everything edible the beach boys offered
The weather
being awfully amazing, we spent most of the time in the water,
The pool:
The Ocean:
Walking on
the beach, oh, the beach! this was definitely the best part of the holiday:
My cousin Risper, (you can read more about her here) got a job at Diani Beach Hospital a week before our travel and she joined us a day after we had arrived.
She is truly, from the bottom of her heart gracious and we wish her the best of all as she takes this new leap of faith:
When we were not eating or playing pool (and we really did play pool, and
This shark/whale/dolphin came out so perfect, we just sat and stared at it for the rest of the afternoon :)
To the Ferry:
Fort Jesus:
Haller Park:
We were actually, incredibly lucky to find the crocodiles feeding and this picture is simply
priceless:
The Oryx and baboons:
The Zebras:
Then we met
this tortoise, fondly known as Mzee Kobe, who is 100 YEARS OLD!! Beat that people!
I even
caught DK on tape looking at 'uchi wa mnyama'
And after
promising that I wouldn't post that picture on the internet, we had a chance to
have a walk in the park':
We also visited
my generous, generous cousin in Ukunda who gave us these beautiful Tees
that spell SOUL MATE! How cool is she!!
Then on
Valentines' Day, my Bee Eff Eff, Messy flew down with her hubby so we got to spend
so much quality time at the beach together:
We had fuuun!!!
Sammy,
Messy's hubby took this picture of us with the moon in the middle of our love
sign, and we will love it for the rest of our lives:
Happy
