Newses and the 2,000 Mark!

You guys are a.w.e.s.o.m.e! My blog has officially reached 2,000 visitors! I'm thrilled, honestly thrilled! Thanks so much for hanging out with me here—reading, commenting, telling your friends. It's working! 2,000 is a pretty big number, and a number to be proud of if you ask me. Can you still believe 2,000 mark views? In four months? I am so excited, and I am thankful to you all who stop by to read. You are awesome peeps! I am in genuine disbelief at how much traffic my blog is seeing!

And since y'all are awing, I feel esteemed to share with you things that have kept me occupied these past few weeks, which to me are both venturous and fulfilling.

Things like having a lunch date with the girls a few weekends ago?

That was fun, so, for the first weekend of the month, my friends and I decided to get out of town which was in celebration of Madaraka Day and two of my pals birthdays.

After several days mooting over what to do for the getaway, we finally settled for camping at Fisherman's Camp, Naivasha and because we are weird peeps, this is how we dress for bivouacking...

See the heel? And the surface she walking on? We are professionals.
The place was everything incredible stands for. We got there early enough but as much as we had hoped to stay in the cottages for the weekend, they were fully booked two weeks to the day. That is how hunted for the campsite is. So, we settled for tents and it was so much fun setting them up. Results:

woo hoo! we finally have a 'roof' over our heads and a 'dining table' in front of them...see?

There were myriads of activities for us to engage in, and am talking bike riding people, sight-seeing, boat rides, barbeque-grilling, well. Just to name a few...and with visual aids:
I literally, never get enough of these sceneries!

And with the existence of this beautiful creation, who doesn't need that weekend out of town?

The sunburns we got later were worth every ride, every minute we spent outdoors...

And while at it, who said a girl can't make friends?

There peeps, that was a weekend well spent and I hope y'all had as much fun for Madaraka celebrations as we did and did I mention how grateful I am for reading my blog? Because I really am. Here's to another 2,000 views!

God Bless our Veterans

Happpy Madaraka Day/ Mashujaa Day, you guys! I hope you have a fantastic weekend! Mine's looking pretty good, and a little busy...having fun. Helloo Naivasha! :-)

But I'd like to take some time to really think about what Madaraka Day is, and what it means, and what it should mean. It's not all about hitting the trip, cooking out, or grabbing a cold one. Although all of those things can be super fun, of course!

What it is about, and what it should be about, is honoring those wonderful, brave men and women who fight for our country and keep us free. It's about being thankful for the men and women who have lost their lives for our freedom, our country, for us! Veterans who have served, are serving, or will serve. Our troops in Somalia, on the borders and all around the country. They definitely deserve our respect, honor, and gratitude.

I'm proud to say that my late Grandpa was a Veteran. I wish I could tell him thank you today, and I really miss him.

Thank you to ALL of you Veterans out there. I'm so grateful for every single man or woman who serves this wonderful country of ours. God bless you all, and thank you for what you do, not just on Madaraka Day, but every day!

God Bless Kenya, and God Bless our Veterans.
